Nagpur: A tragic incident unfolded in Dhantoli area on January 14, 2025, when an 18-year-old youth was fatally stabbed during an altercation at Takia Ground near Indian Gymkhana. 

The deceased, identified as Karan alias Lucky Rajesh Naykar, succumbed to his injuries at Mayo Hospital. Dhantoli Police have registered a case under multiple sections of the BNS against four individuals, including a woman, in connection with the murder.

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s elder brother, Himanshu Rajesh Naykar, 18, the victim had left home around 9:30 p.m. after dinner for a walk but failed to return. Concerned, Himanshu, along with his friend Dadu Yadav, went to search for him and found Karan at Takia Ground talking with one of the accused, Yogesh Kowe. When Himanshu asked Karan to return home, he replied that he would come shortly.

While Himanshu and Dadu were waiting near a bonfire at the corner of the ground, they heard an argument escalating between Karan and Yogesh. Upon approaching to intervene, the situation worsened as more individuals joined the confrontation.

Accused Kunal Raut, along with Rupesh Waghade, arrived at the scene armed with a knife.

During the altercation, Kunal Raut allegedly stabbed Karan multiple times in the chest and abdomen. Yogesh Kowe and Rupesh Waghade reportedly assaulted Karan with kicks and punches. Accused Kajal Raut allegedly threw bricks at Karan while he lay injured on the ground.

When Himanshu and his friend attempted to intervene, the accused turned on them, forcing them to flee. After the attackers left the scene, Himanshu returned with his younger brother and alerted another resident, Sahil, to call the police.

The police arrived promptly and rushed Karan to Mayo Hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries. Cops have booked all the accused and launched the investigation into the case.
