RPF Reunites Two Missing Children with Mother at Nagpur Railway Station under Operation Nanhey Farishte

Nagpur: In a heartwarming display of prompt action and vigilance, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Nagpur successfully reunited two missing children with their mother under Operation Nanhey Farishte on Monday, May 19.


At approximately 9:24 am, the Divisional Security Control Room, Nagpur alerted the RPF regarding two unattended children traveling alone in the general coach of Train No. 22512. The children had become separated from their mother, who had reportedly deboarded at Gondia station to fetch water and missed re-boarding the train.


Acting swiftly, Head Constable Bhanse and Constable Dharmendra Singh of RPF Nagpur attended the train upon its arrival at Nagpur Railway Station. The Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) had already secured the children safely in the pantry car and handed them over to the RPF along with their belongings.


The children were then brought to the RPF post at Nagpur, where they were provided with care and security. Soon after, their mother arrived on Train No. 12130 and presented valid identification documents, including the Aadhaar cards of the children.


After a thorough verification of the documents and personal statements, and with confirmation from the children in the presence of a Childline representative and two independent witnesses, the authorities confirmed that the children were not in conflict with the law and were genuinely separated due to unforeseen circumstances.


Following all standard protocols under the supervision of SIPF M.K. Pandey, and after the children positively identified their mother and expressed their willingness to go with her, the RPF safely handed over the children to her at 1:40 pm. The mother was also provided with essential guidance to ensure the future safety of her children during travel.


The RPF once again demonstrated their commitment to child protection and passenger safety through their timely intervention under Operation Nanhey Farishte, an initiative aimed at rescuing and reuniting lost or abandoned children on railway premises.
