Nagpur: A tragic industrial mishap occurred at Ankit Pulps and Boards, a pharmaceutical manufacturing company located in Bhilgaon under the jurisdiction of New Kamptee police, resulting in the death of one worker and injuries to five others here, on Tuesday, June 17.

The incident took place after slurry leaked from a Glass Lined Reactor (GLR) inside the factory. One worker died on the spot, while another is reported to be in critical condition. Four others sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Niketan Kadam, Police Inspector Mahesh Andhale, along with the factory inspector and labour inspector, visited the site to assess the situation. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the leak and whether any safety lapses were involved.

The police and factory safety officials are coordinating further inquiries to ensure accountability and prevent future incidents.
