Nagpur: Central Railway’s Nagpur Division continues to make significant strides in the ongoing redevelopment of Nagpur Railway Station. A major achievement has been recorded in the construction of the West Wing-3 Basement Parking structure; a vital component of the station's modernization plan aimed at enhancing commuter experience and easing congestion.
The project is being executed in two distinct phases. Phase I, encompassing an area of 1800 sqm, was successfully completed and handed over to the Division in September 2024. It is currently in use as a surface-level parking zone. Simultaneously, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Firefighting (MEPF) installations and interior finishing works are progressing steadily.
In Phase II, covering 1620 sqm, both excavation and foundation works have been completed. Nearly 90% of the basement slab casting has also been accomplished, while shuttering for the remaining 10% area is underway. Once completed, this phase will contribute significantly to decongesting the surface area and provide a modern, spacious parking facility for commuters.
This development stands as a testament to Central Railway’s commitment to building a smart, efficient, and passenger-centric transport infrastructure, positioning Nagpur Station as a future-ready railway hub.
