Nagpur: Dayanand Arya Kanya Vidyalaya in Jaripatka, Nagpur, which holds minority institution status, has granted admission to a minority girl student following strict intervention by the Maharashtra State Minority Commission. Earlier, the school had allegedly denied admission to minority students, prompting a formal complaint to the Commission.

Acting on the complaint, Commission Chairman Pyare Zia Khan ordered a joint investigation by the Child Protection and Education Departments. The probe, conducted on May 13, confirmed that the school had deliberately refused admission to minority students.

Based on these findings, an FIR was registered at Jaripatka Police Station against the school’s secretary Rajesh Lalwani and two female teachers.

Following the action, the school reversed its stance and admitted the previously rejected student on Tuesday, May 20, under the Commission’s direction.

Taking serious note of the incident, Chairman Khan reprimanded the school management and issued a strict warning against future discriminatory practices. He appealed to parents of minority students to report any such denial of admission to the Maharashtra State Minority Commission, assuring firm legal action and justice in every case.
