Nagpur: In a heartbreaking incident, a 25-year-old youth from Modi Padav, Kamptee, reportedly died by suicide after consuming pesticide, allegedly due to mental stress caused by addiction to online gaming. The tragic event occurred on the night of May 15, and the youth succumbed to the poisoning on Monday morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Aniket Ganesh Dhabale, a resident of Modi Padav, under the jurisdiction of Old Kamptee Police Station. Aniket was pursuing a course in ITI (Fitter Trade) and also worked as a daily wage worker at a reputed bakery. He was the sole breadwinner for his family, according to police sources.
Online Gaming Stress Led to Suicide:
Investigations suggest that Aniket had developed a serious addiction to online mobile games, which led to increasing levels of mental stress and emotional exhaustion. Unable to cope with the psychological burden, he allegedly consumed a poisonous substance in an attempt to end his life.
Police Initiate Investigation:
Upon being alerted, personnel from the Old Kamptee Police Station reached the location and shifted Aniket to a hospital. Despite efforts, he could not be saved and was declared dead on Monday. His body was sent for post-mortem at the Government Mortuary in Kamptee.
Police have registered a case of accidental death and initiated a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
