Nagpur: In a commendable act of honesty, Nagpur Metro staff returned a lost purse containing gold ornaments worth nearly ₹1 lakh and ₹4,000 in cash to a woman passenger, reinforcing public faith in the city’s metro services.
The incident occurred at Prajapati Nagar Metro Station, where passenger Beena Tembhare accidentally left her purse behind on the train. Metro staff discovered the purse during routine cleaning and promptly handed it over to the Lost and Found department.
After a thorough verification process and confirmation of ownership, the purse was returned to Mrs. Tembhare. She was visibly emotional upon recovering her valuables and said, “I was very anxious after losing my purse, but the honesty and quick action of the Metro employees brought me immense relief.”
The Nagpur Metro administration has once again demonstrated its commitment to transparency and passenger welfare, earning praise from commuters for its responsible approach.
