Nagpur: Dispute Over Old Rivalry Turns Fatal in Bhilgaon, Man Killed with Knife; Police Register Case

Nagpur: A 28-year-old man was brutally killed with a sharp weapon following an old rivalry in Bhilgaon area of Nagpur in the early hours of Monday, May 19. The Yashodhara Nagar Police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused, who is currently absconding along with his accomplices.


The deceased has been identified as Farukh alias Sonu Chuti, son of Amin Sheikh. The complaint was lodged by Mohammad Mustafa alias Golu World Isa Ansari (28), a resident of Parvati Nagar near Aniket Kirana Store, under the jurisdiction of Kalamna Police Station.


According to the police, the incident took place between 1:00 am and 1:45 am on May 19 near the cement road adjacent to Siddhant Chaudhary’s cowshed, close to Zilla Parishad Primary School in Bhilgaon.


As per the FIR, the complainant along with the deceased and a few other friends were sitting near the cowshed when the prime accused, Sunil Sarangpure, a resident of Aajri Majri, Nagpur, arrived at the spot with five to six accomplices. Sarangpure reportedly picked a quarrel with Farukh over an old enmity. In a sudden escalation, he allegedly attacked Farukh with a sharp knife, inflicting grievous injuries that led to his death.


Based on the complaint, a case has been registered under Sections 103(1), 189(2), 190, and 191(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. No arrests have been made so far, and further investigation is underway.
