Bengaluru: A 40-year-old man allegedly strangled his two minor daughters before attempting to end his own life at a luxury hotel near Kempegowda International Airport on Monday evening, police said.
The deceased children have been identified as Shaik Zehara (5) and Shaik Zoya (10). Their father, S.G. Imran, a senior manager at a cab company and resident of Bilal Nagar near Nagawara Main Road, was found in critical condition by hotel staff and rushed to Manipal Hospital for treatment. Police said he is currently out of danger.
Hotel Staff Alerted Authorities
According to police, hotel security personnel found Imran unconscious inside a room and immediately alerted emergency services. He was shifted to the hospital, where he remains under medical supervision.
During the investigation, police discovered the bodies of the two children and launched a probe into the incident.
Note Recovered From the Scene
Investigators said they recovered a handwritten note from the hotel room. According to police, the note referred to marital disputes and alleged that Imran suspected his wife of being in a relationship with another person.
Police said the contents of the note are being verified as part of the investigation and should not be treated as established facts until the inquiry is completed.
Investigation Underway
A case has been registered, and forensic teams have examined the scene. Police are questioning family members and collecting evidence to determine the exact sequence of events.
Officials said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
