Nagpur: Sitabuldi Police have registered a case against the director of a Hyderabad-based company for allegedly cheating a 28-year-old Nagpur resident of ₹5 lakh on the pretext of providing him a job.

According to the police complaint, the complainant, Sumesh Naresh Patil, a resident of Ramdas Peth, came across a job advertisement posted by the accused on Instagram. Looking for employment, he contacted the accused to inquire about the job opportunity.

The accused, identified as Prem Kumar, 40, director of Hanuman IT Services and a resident of Hyderabad, allegedly assured the complainant that he would provide him employment in his company.

Police said the accused subsequently collected different amounts from the complainant on various dates, totalling ₹5 lakh, on the pretext of securing the promised job. However, the complainant allegedly neither received the job nor got his money back.

The alleged fraudulent transactions took place between October 5, 2025 and August 7, 2026, according to the police record.

After conducting a preliminary inquiry based on the complainant’s application, Sitabuldi Police registered a case under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The accused has not been arrested so far, according to the available police record. Further investigation is underway to ascertain whether other people were involved in the alleged job fraud and whether additional victims were similarly duped.
