Nagpur: A 71-year-old woman was allegedly robbed of valuables worth ₹10,400 by an unidentified two-wheeler rider in the Dharampeth area of Nagpur on Sunday morning.

According to Sitabuldi Police, the incident took place on August 9 between 9.30 am and 10 am near Annapurna Grocery Store, close to the school and Rajat Mahotsav area in Dharampeth.

The complainant, Minashree Chandramouli Iyer (71), a homemaker, was reportedly walking along the road when an unidentified accused riding a motorcycle approached her from behind. The rider allegedly snatched the bag she was carrying in her hand and fled from the spot.

The stolen bag reportedly contained an ATM card, ₹400 in cash, a Samsung mobile phone valued at around ₹10,000, an Aadhaar card and a Bank of Maharashtra card. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at ₹10,400.

Following the woman’s complaint, Sitabuldi Police registered a case under Section 304(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The accused remains unidentified, and no arrest has been reported so far. Police are investigating the incident and are likely to examine CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the rider.
