Nagpur: A mock drill was conducted at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur on Thursday, May 8, as part of a security preparedness exercise. The drill was carried out in the wake of a recent blast near Lahore Airport, prompting Indian airport authorities to remain on high alert.

As part of the mock exercise, a siren was sounded across the airport premises, leading to an immediate evacuation of all personnel working inside the terminal. Staff members were swiftly escorted outside the airport as per the pre-planned security protocol.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which handles airport security, conducted the drill to ensure readiness in case of an actual emergency. CISF officials also guided airport staff on safety measures and protocols to be followed in the event of a terror attack or explosion.

The entire airport remained under tight security during the drill, with the aim of testing the responsiveness of security agencies and airport personnel. The exercise was completed without any disruption to flight operations.
