Nagpur: Ajni Police Crack Burglary Case Within 10-Days; Accused Nabbed, Six House-Breaking Incidents Solved

Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough, Ajni Police apprehended two burglars involved in multiple house-breaking incidents across the city, solving six cases and recovering stolen property worth approximately ₹8.10 lakh.


Between April 23 and April 26, complainant Rishi Lakhanlal Pathariya (40), a resident of Plot No. 27, Galli No. 6, Hawrapeth, Hanuman Mandir area, had left his locked residence to visit relatives in Madhya Pradesh. During this period, unknown miscreants broke the main door lock and made away with ₹10,000 cash and gold-silver ornaments worth ₹2.51 lakh from a steel cupboard.


Acting swiftly on the complaint, Ajni Police registered a case under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the BNS. Using technical surveillance and intelligence inputs provided by Police Constable Atul Tikle, the team apprehended Afroz Shamshad Ansari (23), a resident of Girija Nagar, Bhandewadi, Pardi. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the theft with co-accused Nagesh Raju Pendam of Chandramani Nagar, Ajni.


Further investigation revealed the duo’s involvement in five additional house-breakings – two more in Ajni, one each in Hudkeshwar, New Kamptee, and Wathoda areas. The police seized gold-silver jewellery and an Activa scooter from their possession.


The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Nisar Tamboli, Addl. CP Shivajirao Rathod (South Region), DCP Rashmita Rao (Zone 4), and ACP Narendra Hivare (Ajni Division). The arresting team included Sr. PI Nitinchandra Rajkumar, PSI Laxman Kendre, API Siddhant Maske, and other personnel including Manoj Nevare, Prakash Gadekar, Rahul Shende, Avinash Changole, Himanshu, and Kunal.
