Two Wanted Under MCOCA Nabbed by Pardi Police After Months on the Run

Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough, the Pardi Police arrested two absconding accused wanted under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) on Wednesday morning. The duo had been evading arrest for the past three months in connection with an extortion case registered at Ganeshpeth Police Station in 2023.


The arrested accused have been identified as Faizan alias Raj Kalya Abdul Rashid Khan (28), resident of Mirza Galli, near Mir Mehr Masjid, Khadan, Gandhi Bagh, Tehsil Police Station area, and Rizwan Hasan Ansari (28), resident of Geetanjali, C.I. Road, Lodhipura, behind Lal School, Ganeshpeth.


Both were booked under Sections 386, 387, and 34 of the IPC and later charged under Sections 3(1)(ii), 3(2), and 3(4) of MCOCA, 1999 for their involvement in organised criminal activities. Acting on a directive from senior officers, the night patrol team of Pardi Police spotted the two moving suspiciously in Nageshwar Nagar area late on October 15. When instructed to stop, they tried to flee but were chased down and apprehended near Rani Sati Society, Ambenagar, Pardi.


Upon verification, the police confirmed that the two were the same absconding MCOCA accused wanted by Ganeshpeth Police. They were handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.


The successful operation was executed under the supervision of Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singhal, Additional Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (South) Dr. Shivaji Rathod, DCP (Zone 5) Niketan Kadam, and ACP (Jaripatka Division) Satyaveer Bandiwar, led by Senior PI Nanda Mangate along with PI Arvind Kolhare, PSI Prasad Shinde, and constables Sandeep Lande, Shailesh Kumbhalkar, Yogesh Borekar, Nikhil Mohite, Ritesh Yelmule, and Ravina Bijewar.
