Alert Action by RPF Nagpur Division -Attempt of Illegal Liquor Smuggling Foiled on Train

Nagpur: “Operation Satark”, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Post Nagpur achieved a major success in curbing illegal activities. Acting under the guidance of Inspector, Intelligence Branch Nagpur, the RPF/CIB Unit Amla staff was conducting surveillance to prevent smuggling of narcotic substances and liquor. During inspection in Train No. 16032, near Bharatwada Station, the team noticed a suspicious heavy bag under berth No. 71 in coach S-6.

When questioned, the passenger nearby claimed the bag to be his. Upon being asked about its contents, he informed that it contained liquor bottles. The RPF team immediately informed the Inspector at Nagpur.


When the train arrived at Nagpur Station at 10:03 hrs on Platform No. 2, the RPF Nagpur team took possession of the bag and checked it. Upon examination, the bag was found to contain a total of 8 bottles of “All Seasons Collector’s Collection Reserve Whisky” – 5 bottles of 750 ml and 3 bottles of 2000 ml – with an estimated total value of ₹7,490/-.


The RPF team seized the liquor and handed over the passenger and seized material to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. A case was registered under Section 65(E) for illegal possession and transportation of liquor.


This swift and vigilant action by the RPF Nagpur team highlights their continued commitment towards curbing illegal activities in trains and railway premises. RPF Nagpur continues to carry out regular checks and surveillance drives under Operation Satark to ensure passenger safety and maintain law and order. Passengers are urged to report any suspicious movement or activity immediately to the RPF or railway officials.
