Nagpur: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old sand trader from Neri village in Kamptee taluka was brutally murdered by three assailants over an old enmity. The incident occurred between 7:30 pm on October 15 and 1:50 am on October 16, near a brick kiln close to Neri sand ghat within the jurisdiction of New Kamptee Police Station.
The deceased, Vivek Ramesh Tandekar, was attacked on the head with a sharp weapon, leading to his death on the spot. According to police, the motive traces back to a dispute that took place around 20 days ago between the deceased and one Devidas Wadibhasme, who had allegedly abused Vivek’s uncle and aunt. The matter was already under trial in court.
Following the murder, Vivek’s younger brother Abhishek Tandekar (26) lodged a complaint, upon which PSI Tidke registered an offence under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against unidentified accused.
Taking swift action, the New Kamptee Police traced and detained three suspects identified as
- Devidas alias Deva Barsuji Wanjari (42),
- Keshav Sukhlal Giri (33), and
- Sahil Pramod Ghatole (19) — all residents of Neri, Kamptee.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
