Nagpur Division Conducts Intensive Ticket Checking Drive; 126 Offenders Penalized

Nagpur: In a major crackdown on ticketless and irregular travel, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway conducted an intensive ticket checking drive on February 21, 2026, recovering over ₹1 lakh in penalties.


The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Assistant Commercial Manager (Ticket Checking) with the aim of curbing unauthorized travel and safeguarding railway revenue.


Four Major Trains Inspected


During the drive, railway officials thoroughly checked the following trains:

  • 12295
  • 12721
  • 12296
  • 22351

Two dedicated squads comprising nine Ticket Checking Staff and one Commercial Inspector were deployed. The team covered the section between Nagpur – Betul – Ghoradongri – Nagpur.


126 Ticketless Travellers Caught, ₹1,02,300 Recovered


The drive resulted in the detection of 126 cases of ticketless and irregular travel. Offenders were penalized, leading to the recovery of ₹1,02,300 in fines.

Officials reported an average performance of 14 cases detected per staff member, with average earnings of ₹11,366 per staff—highlighting the effectiveness of the operation.


Railways Urge Passengers to Travel with Valid Tickets


The Nagpur Division continues to conduct similar drives regularly to ensure adherence to railway regulations and to prevent revenue loss. Passengers have been strictly advised to travel only with proper and valid tickets to avoid inconvenience, penalties, or legal action.
