Nagpur: Khaparkheda Police have arrested a habitual juvenile offender involved in multiple motorcycle thefts, revealing that he frequently stole vehicles to finance his lavish lifestyle. The arrest led to the recovery of two stolen vehicles — a Hero Splendor Plus and a Honda Activa stolen from Nagpur MIDC.

The case began on February 15, 2026, when complainant W.R. Thakur (33) of Kamptee Colliery reported that his motorcycle, a Hero Splendor Plus (MH-40-AN-1913), had been stolen. The theft occurred on February 14 around 3:30 PM, when he had parked and locked his bike in front of Rubab Chai Tapri at Bhanegaon Chowk while speaking with a shopkeeper. Khaparkheda Police registered the case and initiated an investigation.

During field inquiry, the police patrol team received a tip-off from an informer that the stolen motorcycle had been taken by a juvenile in conflict with law, already known to authorities for repeated offenses. Acting swiftly, the police traced the juvenile to his residence and took him into custody. During interrogation, he confessed to stealing the Splendor Plus and hiding it near bushes behind the AP Bar, close to abandoned quarters.

The police team accompanied the juvenile to the location, where they recovered the stolen Splendor Plus along with a numberless Honda Activa (Chassis No. ME4JF913FMG421565). When questioned, the juvenile admitted that the Activa had also been stolen from the MIDC area of Nagpur city, along with an accomplice who is also a juvenile.

Investigators revealed that the juvenile is a habitual offender who regularly targeted two-wheelers to support his luxury-driven lifestyle, including spending on outings, gadgets, and other leisure activities. His arrest helped police solve two separate theft cases, including Crime No. 76/26 under Section 303(2) of the IPC registered at Khaparkheda Police Station, and another case at MIDC Police Station, Nagpur.

The investigation team comprised Senior PI Harish Rumkar, PSI Vilas Karangami, HC Namdev Tekam, HC Mukesh Waghade, WHC Kavita Gondane, and PCs Raju Bhoyar, Deepak Ingle, and Amit Khobragade, all from Khaparkheda Police Station.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior officials including Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singhal, Additional CP Naveenchandra Reddy, Additional CP (North Region) Rajendra Dabhade, DCP Dr. Sandeep Pakhale (Zone 6), and ACP Ankush Khedkar (Kamptee Division).
