Nagpur: A fatal hit-and-run accident occurred in the early hours of February 24, 2026, in the Hudkeshwar Police Station limits, leaving an unidentified pedestrian dead on the spot.

At around 2:55 AM, an unknown vehicle travelling at high speed along Jabalpur Highway, near Wihirgaon Bridge, struck a man aged approximately 40–45 years who was walking along the road. The driver allegedly drove rashly and negligently, dragging the victim for a distance, causing severe mutilation and instantaneous death.

The identity of the deceased remains unknown.

Following the incident, complainant Amjadshah Sheikh lodged a report at Hudkeshwar Police Station. A case has been registered against the unknown vehicle driver under Section 106(1), 281 BNS and Sections 134, 177, 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act

Police have initiated further investigation and are working to identify both the deceased and the offending vehicle.
