Nagpur: Gittikhadan Police have arrested two youngsters involved in a burglary at a medical shop and a vehicle theft, solving two cases in the process.
Complainant Zoeb Sheikh (40), resident of Anant Nagar, owns a medical shop at Ekta Nagar, Gorewada. On the night of August 4, unidentified thieves broke the shutter lock of his shop and decamped with ₹6,000 cash. A case under Section 334(1) of the BNS was registered.
During investigation, police detained Mohammed Arshad alias Nabalik Sajid Sheikh (20), resident of Bada Tajbagh, Sakkardara, and Man Ashok Chaure (19), resident of Amar Nagar, MIDC. The duo admitted to the burglary and also confessed to a separate vehicle theft in Gittikhadan limits.
Police recovered an Activa scooter and ₹350 cash, with total property worth ₹25,350 seized from their possession.
The operation was executed under the supervision of CP Ravindra Kumar Singhal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, Addl CP (North) Rajendra Dabhade, DCP (Zone 5) Nityanand Jha, and ACP (Sadar Division) Sunita Meshram, with the team led by PI Kailas Deshmane and staff.
