Nagpur's Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport experienced widespread flight disruptions on Sunday, with numerous departures and arrivals running well behind schedule. The delays were most pronounced during evening and late-night hours, with flights to major destinations like Delhi and Mumbai held up for over an hour.
Airport authorities attributed the disruptions to a combination of technical glitches and heavy air traffic congestion. Late-arriving aircraft caused a ripple effect, pushing back subsequent departures across the board.
Travellers bore the worst of the chaos, with many reaching the airport on time only to wait extended periods. Frustrated passengers filed formal complaints against airline operators.
Among the worst-hit routes, flights to Delhi and Bengaluru faced delays of up to two hours, while Mumbai-bound services were pushed back by roughly an hour. Connecting flights to Indore, Pune, and Hyderabad also saw disruptions, running 15–20 minutes late.
The disruption was not limited to a single carrier — major airlines including IndiGo, Air India Express, and Air India were all affected.
