Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar Police have busted an alleged sex racket operating from a house in the densely populated Sangam Nagar area of Nagpur and rescued three women, police said.

The raid was conducted on August 27 at Sanjeevani Quarters, House No. 3411, in the Yashodhara Nagar police station area, following a tip-off received by police.

According to the complaint filed by Police Sub-Inspector Nilkanth Nannaware, the accused, Pravin Shaligram Bilse alias Yadav (30), a resident of Pawan Nagar near Amma’s Dargah, allegedly lured three women with promises of money and facilitated prostitution for his own financial benefit.

Police alleged that the accused was operating the prostitution activity from his residence despite being aware that it was located in a densely populated area with frequent public movement.

During the raid, police allegedly seized ₹2,000 in cash, ₹6,750 believed to have been earned from customers, a Suzuki Burgman two-wheeler valued at ₹1 lakh, a Vivo mobile phone worth ₹10,000 and condoms worth ₹50.

The total value of the seized property was estimated at ₹1,18,800.

Yashodhara Nagar Police registered a case under Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

Further investigation is underway.
