Nagpur: A 55-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her home in Ronapti Nagar, Wathoda, on Friday morning, creating a stir in the locality. The deceased has been identified as Sunita Madhukar Bhoyar, a resident of Plot No. 26, Ronapti Nagar.
According to police sources, Sunita lived with her son Akash Bhoyar (38) and daughter-in-law. On October 7, the couple left for Mumbai, leaving Sunita alone at home. When they returned to Nagpur around 7.25 am on October 10, they found the main door locked from inside. Akash entered through the back entrance and discovered his mother lying lifeless on the bed with her face covered and visible scratch marks on her face.
The marks initially sparked suspicions of foul play, leading to speculation that she might have been murdered. However, police sources clarified that, prima facie, doctors have identified cardiac arrest as the likely cause of death.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and an Accidental Death (AD) case has been registered at Wathoda Police Station. Further investigation is being carried out by cops to determine whether the death was natural or involved any foul play.
