Robbery Accused Arrested by Sakkardara Police in Nagpur; Cash and Bag Snatched from Youth

Nagpur: The Sakkardara Police have arrested a robbery accused who allegedly stopped a youth on the road, forcibly took cash, and fled with his bag containing documents in Bhandepura locality on Wednesday night.


According to police, the complainant Ajendrakumar Barelal Nageshwar (27), a resident of Bhande Plot, Nagpur, who currently stays at Madavi’s house on rent, was on his way to Shankarshahi Math, Bhande Plot, to travel to his native place in Madhya Pradesh. Around 10 pm on October 9, 2025, the accused Sonu alias Genda Rajkumar Dandekar (25), resident of Bhande Plot, behind PF Office, Sakkardara, Nagpur, intercepted him and asked, “How much money do you have in your pocket? Take it out.”


He then forcibly took ₹3,500 in cash from Nageshwar’s pocket and snatched a bag containing documents before fleeing the spot.


Acting swiftly on the complaint, PSI Pravin Wakde from Sakkardara Police Station registered an offence under Section 309(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched a search operation. The accused was later arrested, and further investigation is underway.


The prompt response of the Sakkardara police led to the successful arrest of the robber within hours of the crime, ensuring safety and confidence among residents in the area.
