Nagpur: Under the ongoing Operation Thunder initiative led by Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singal, the Old Kamptee Police Station Detection Branch achieved yet another major breakthrough against the city’s drug network. Acting on a secret tip-off, the team laid a trap near the Mahindra showroom on Kamptee Road, under the Outer Ring Road bridge, and arrested a drug peddler in the early hours of October 13, 2025.

During the operation, police seized 55 grams of MD powder worth ₹2.75 lakh, along with a mobile phone, weighing scale, motorcycle, and cash — collectively valued at ₹3,47,570. The accused has been identified as Navneet Suresh Shewane (28), resident of Aradhana Nagar, Nagpur. Based on his interrogation, another suspect known as “Golu” is currently being traced. The action was carried out in strict compliance with the NDPS Act.

Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Singal praised the DB team for their swift and precise action, noting that Operation Thunder continues to dismantle the drug chain across Nagpur. “Our mission is to make the city drug-free and safeguard the youth from addiction. Nagpur Police remain firm — there is no place for drug peddlers in our city,” he emphasized.
