Nagpur Crime Branch Arrests Two Vehicle Theft Accused, Solves 11 Cases Including Burglary and 10 Bike Thefts

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur Police has arrested two accused and detained two juveniles for their alleged involvement in a series of vehicle thefts and a house burglary. The operation led to the detection of 11 criminal cases, including 10 vehicle thefts and one burglary, with stolen property worth nearly ₹9.66 lakh recovered.


According to police, the investigation began following a burglary reported at Tahsil Police Station. Complainant Sheikh Rashid Sheikh Aziz (38), a resident of Boriyapura in Nagpur, had locked his house and travelled out of town for work between June 19 and June 21. During his absence, unidentified burglars allegedly broke the lock of the first-floor entrance door and stole gold and silver ornaments worth approximately ₹1.12 lakh from a cupboard inside the house.


Technical Investigation Leads to Arrests

Acting on technical evidence and intelligence inputs, Crime Branch Unit 5 officers apprehended:

  • Shahanawaz Shah Gulzar Shah (19), resident of Boriyapura, Kidwai Road, Nagpur
  • Faizan Khan Inayatullah Khan (45), resident of Takiya Diwanshah, Mominpura, Nagpur

Police also detained two juveniles in conflict with law.


During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to committing the burglary. Police recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments worth ₹1.36 lakh from their possession.


Ten Vehicle Theft Cases Solved

Further questioning revealed the group's involvement in multiple vehicle theft cases across Nagpur. The accused allegedly confessed to stealing motorcycles in the jurisdictions of:

  • Dhantoli Police Station – 4 cases
  • Yashodhara Nagar Police Station – 2 cases
  • Sitabuldi Police Station – 2 cases
  • Kapil Nagar Police Station – 1 case
  • Koradi Police Station – 1 case

Police recovered 10 stolen two-wheelers worth approximately ₹8.30 lakh from the accused.


Property Worth ₹9.66 Lakh Recovered

Overall, Nagpur Police solved 11 criminal cases, including one house burglary and ten vehicle thefts, and recovered stolen property valued at approximately ₹9.66 lakh.


The accused and the juveniles have been handed over to Tahsil Police Station along with the recovered property for further legal action. The investigation is ongoing.
