Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, Nandanvan Police have solved a burglary case within days and recovered stolen property worth ₹11.7 lakh, including gold and silver ornaments along with cash.
The incident occurred on August 30, 2025, between 8 pm and 10 pm at Plot No. 289, Hirvi Layout, Nandanvan, near Hanuman Mandir, Nagpur. Complainant Rahul Ashok Kuhikar (33) had locked his house and gone with family to attend Ganesh Utsav celebrations. During this time, burglars broke the lock on the main door and decamped with ₹20,000 cash, 114 grams of gold, and 70 grams of silver jewellery, collectively valued at around ₹11.7 lakh.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC against unidentified accused at Nandanvan Police Station. During the investigation, police used technical analysis and local intelligence to trace the culprits. The accused were identified as Sujit Dhanpal Borkar (19), Rohit Biniram Nagose (22), and a juvenile in conflict with law.
On interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the burglary in collusion. Police recovered the entire stolen property from their possession.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of CP Ravinderkumar Singal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP Shivajirao Rathod, DCP Rashmita Rao, and ACP Narendra Hivare, with the team led by officers Vinayak Koli, Jaswant Patil, Pradeep Kait, Ashish Titarmare, Someshwar Ghugal, and others. Further investigation is ongoing.
