Nagpur: The Crime Branch’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) successfully traced and rescued a 17-year-old boy who had gone missing from Hudkeshwar area, Nagpur, on August 30, 2025.
According to police, the complainant, a 46-year-old resident of Hudkeshwar, lodged a missing report after his teenage son left home without informing anyone and did not return. Initially, a case was registered at Hudkeshwar Police Station under Section 137(2) of the BNS against unidentified accused for allegedly luring the minor away.
During a parallel investigation, the Crime Branch received a tip-off on September 1, 2025, that a minor was roaming suspiciously in Vaishnavi Mata Nagar. Acting swiftly, the team reached the spot and found a boy matching the description. He was taken into custody, counseled, and later handed over to Hudkeshwar Police for further legal action.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of CP Ravinderkumar Singal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP Vasant Pardeshi, DCP Rahul Makanikar, and ACP Abhijit Patil, with active participation of officers Lalita Todase, Gajendrasinh Thakur, Shyam Angulthewar, Ram Nirgudwar, Vilas Chinchulkar, Deepak Gite, Ashwini Khodpewar, and Vaishali Kinikar.
Police are further verifying whether any abduction attempt was involved in the case.
