Nagpur: Acting swiftly during night patrolling, Hudkeshwar Police foiled a planned robbery and arrested three men while seizing dangerous weapons and equipment worth ₹1.76 lakh.
The incident unfolded on August 31, 2025, around 11 pm near Radha Nand Nagar, beside Jagannath Temple, Besa Road, Nagpur. Police patrol teams noticed a group of four to five men sitting suspiciously. When the team moved to detain them, two suspects managed to escape in the dark, while three were nabbed on the spot.
The arrested accused have been identified as Vijay alias Tatya Koshid Hatimare (19), Ankit alias Sarkar Suraj Patil (33), and Akshay alias Mundi Sagar Shahu (19), all residents of Nagpur. From their possession, police seized two iron knives, an iron hammer, a nylon rope, five masks, surgical gloves, adhesive tape, four mobile phones, and a black Pulsar motorcycle (MH 49 CK 1931).
Investigations revealed that the accused were preparing to execute a robbery when intercepted. Based on the complaint filed by Police Constable Sandeep Patil, a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC. Police have launched a manhunt for the absconding accused.
The successful operation was conducted under the supervision of CP Ravinderkumar Singal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP Shivajirao Rathod, DCP Rashmita Rao, and ACP Narendra Hivare, with the active involvement of officers Dnyaneshwar Bhedodkar, Omprakash Bhalavi, Gopal Deshmukh, Santosh Sonatakke, Rajesh Mote, Vijay Sinha, and others.
