Nagpur: The Crime Branch Unit 5 apprehended two youths for carrying a deadly weapon with suspected criminal intent in Jaripatka area.
On the evening of July 28, around 7:30 pm, the police team spotted two suspicious youths on a black Splendor motorcycle near Mekosabagh Road, close to Lendi Ground. Upon being stopped, they identified themselves as:
- Kartik alias Babu Suresh Khandare (19), resident of Bhim Chowk, Shiv Mandir, Nara Road, Jaripatka, and
- Yash alias Lucky Darshan Dongre (19), resident of Lumbininagar, near Buddha Vihar, Jaripatka.
A search in the presence of witnesses led to the recovery of a sharp iron knife from Khandare’s possession. Additionally, police seized two mobile phones and the motorcycle, with the total seized items worth ₹80,500.
The accused were found in violation of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act, and an FIR under Sections 4/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act was lodged at Jaripatka Police Station. Both accused have been arrested and handed over to Jaripatka Police for further legal action.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil, by PI Sandeep Bua and his team.
