Bengaluru, Karnataka: The skeletal remains of a 52-year-old woman were discovered inside her duplex house in Havanur Layout, Bagalagunte, with police suspecting that she had died nearly a year ago.
The deceased has been identified as Dakshayini, who was reportedly living alone at the residence. According to preliminary police findings, her body remained undiscovered inside the house for several months.
Police said Dakshayini had been living in isolation after the deaths of her husband and son. Her husband, Umesh, reportedly died around 10 years ago, while her son later succumbed to cancer.
Investigators believe the woman may have died approximately a year ago. According to initial information, her daughter and son-in-law had not visited the house during this period.
Officers from the Bagalagunte Police Station reached the scene after the remains were discovered, conducted a preliminary inspection, and registered a case.
The exact cause of death has not yet been determined. Police have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman's death, and further details are expected after forensic examination and post-mortem procedures.
