Nagpur: A 38-year-old woman allegedly suffered a fracture to her right shoulder after her husband assaulted her during a domestic dispute at their residence in Snehnagar, along Wardha Road, under Pratap Nagar police station limits.

The complainant, Ashwini Angad Harde (38), a homemaker, told police that her husband, Angad Harde (40), allegedly has a habit of consuming alcohol, leading to frequent quarrels between the couple.

According to the complaint, the incident took place between the evening of July 28 and the early hours of July 29. Ashwini had gone to pick up her daughter from school when she received a call from her father-in-law. He allegedly told her that he had seen a threatening video on Facebook in which Angad appeared to be attempting to hang himself.

Ashwini immediately returned home and repeatedly called out to Angad to open the bedroom door. When he did not respond, she opened it with a spare key and found him sitting on a chair.

Police said Angad allegedly picked a quarrel with Ashwini, abused her and assaulted her with fists, causing a fracture to her right shoulder. Ashwini also alleged that Angad had assaulted her seven days earlier, resulting in a fracture to her left shoulder.

Based on her complaint, Pratap Nagar police registered a case under Sections 117(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
