Nagpur: A 20-year-old student was allegedly attacked with a cutter after he objected to two unidentified youths who allegedly passed inappropriate remarks at him while he was walking towards Nagpur railway station with his female friend on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place around 12.45 pm on July 29 on the road near Ganesh Tekdi Temple under the jurisdiction of Sitabuldi police station.

The complainant, Siddhant Anil Singh (20), a resident of Vivekanand Colony in Sausar, Pandhurna district of Madhya Pradesh, and currently staying in Rachana Ring Road area of Nagpur, told police that he was walking towards the railway station with his friend to travel to his native place.

According to the complaint, two unidentified youths, aged around 20 to 25 years, approached them from behind and allegedly made some remarks. When Siddhant objected to their comments, one of the youths allegedly attacked him with a cutter, striking him on his back and hand.

The accused duo allegedly fled from the spot after the attack. Siddhant was subsequently taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment with the help of police.

Based on his complaint, Sitabuldi police registered a case under Sections 118(1), 115(2), 352 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
