Nagpur: In a significant reshuffling of the city police administration, three Indian Police Service (IPS) officers are set to assume the roles of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) in Nagpur.

The Home Department issued fresh transfer orders on Thursday, marking the return of Lohit Matani, who had previously served as DCP in the city, to his former post. Matani, who was transferred to Bhandara as Superintendent of Police and later moved to Mumbai as Assistant Deputy Inspector General (Law & Order) on August 22, will now return to Nagpur to take up the position of DCP once again.

In addition to Matani, two IPS officers from the 2020 batch, Mahak Swami and Neethipudi Rashmitha Rao, are expected to join the city police force as DCPs in the near future. Their appointments come as part of a broader effort to restructure and strengthen the city police’s administrative framework.

Meanwhile, Nimit Goyal, who previously held the position of DCP (Zone-III), has been transferred to Mumbai. The changes are expected to enhance the efficiency of law enforcement in Nagpur as the new officers take charge of their respective roles.
