Nagpur: Ambazari police arrested a history-sheeter who was found roaming with a sharp weapon in violation of an externment order. The accused, identified as Suresh alias Ava Vijay Ramteke (28), a resident of Sanjay Nagar near Hanuman Mandir, was caught near the public toilet in Sanjay Nagar around 9:10 pm on August 4, 2025.
During a routine patrol, police received a tip-off about a suspicious person in the area. When the patrol team reached the spot, the accused tried to flee but was caught. A search led to the recovery of a knife concealed in his waistband, estimated to be worth ₹150.
Records revealed that the accused had been externed from Nagpur city and rural limits for one year under order no. 19/2024 dated October 14, 2024, issued by DCP Zone 2. Since he was found within city limits carrying a weapon without permission, Ambazari police booked him under Sections 4/25 of the BNS and Sections 142 and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP Nityanand Jha, ACP Sudhir Nandanwar, and PI Vinod Godbole, along with PSI Adam Shaikh and NPC Pravin Lokhande.
