Nagpur: In a dramatic protest, members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Nagpur South-West unit, led by Ramu Khobragade, staged a ‘chicken-throwing agitation’ on Wednesday against the illegal Khamla chicken market.
The agitation took place at the Laxmi Nagar Zonal Office of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), where the protestors expressed their outrage over civic officials’ alleged inaction against the unauthorized poultry vendors operating in the Khamla area.
According to the protestors, despite repeated complaints from local residents about hygiene violations and the unregulated sale of meat, the authorities have failed to act, forcing the MNS to take this symbolic step of throwing chicken at the municipal office to draw attention to the issue.
The MNS has warned of intensified protests if the illegal market is not shut down immediately and stringent action is not taken against the encroachers.
