Nagpur: Kapil Nagar Police have registered a case of cheating and criminal intimidation against three individuals for allegedly duping a woman and her acquaintance of ₹4.83 lakh under the pretext of selling land in the Nari area of Nagpur.
The complainant, Anjana alias Anju Rajkumar Agnihotri (Sharma), 46, originally from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, and currently residing in Lashkaribagh, Nagpur, alleged that the accused:
1. Sangeeta Gopichand Sahare (50)
2. Gopichand Laxman Sahare (65), both residents of Maitri Colony, Kapil Nagar
3. Ashok alias Lala Dinesh Mishra (55), resident of Plot No. 67, Maitri Colony, allegedly conspired to forge documents of Plot Nos. 6 and 7 from a layout in Deepak Nagar (Khasra No. 98/1, Sheet No. 11), but instead, prepared and handed over power of attorney documents for Plot Nos. 8 and 9 to the complainant.
Furthermore, they also gave fake power of attorney documents for Plot Nos. 12, 13, and 14 to the complainant’s acquaintance, Tarun Sharma. Collectively, the victims were made to pay ₹4,83,000 to the accused.
When the victims demanded proper sale deeds, the accused allegedly refused, citing an ongoing court case on the land, and even issued death threats to avoid completing the transaction.
Based on a detailed inquiry, Kapil Nagar Police registered an FIR under IPC Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention). PSI Ulmale is investigating the matter further.
