Nagpur: Maharashtra Chief Minister will visit Police Bhavan, Nagpur, on August 10 at 11:30 am to launch Garud Drishti, an advanced social media monitoring tool developed by Nagpur Police. The CM will also hand over ₹10 crore recovered from cyber fraud cases to 200 victims.

According to officials, another ₹12.5 crore, frozen via the NCCRP portal, will be returned to concerned victims in the coming months. Selected beneficiaries will receive the amounts directly from the Chief Minister during the event.

Top Recoveries

Among the major beneficiaries are Rohit Agarwal (₹73 lakh), Devdas Bodhraj Parki (₹35.15 lakh), Shashikant Parande (₹34.77 lakh), Rajmani Joshi (₹29.95 lakh), and Rahul Chawda and Aditya Goyanka (₹26.20 lakh each).

Garud Drishti – The Innovation

Launched as a low-cost, in-house innovation during Cyber Hack 2025, Garud Drishti has already monitored over 30,000 social media posts, removing 650 objectionable ones. The system helps curb rumours, hate speech, and provocative content, preventing law-and-order disturbances. It also tracks suspicious accounts, analyses online trends, and enables swift action.

Nagpur Police hold the Intellectual Property Rights for Garud Drishti, making it a unique local solution in law enforcement technology. Officials say the initiative strengthens social harmony and boosts crime prevention through advanced monitoring.

This combined effort — deploying Garud Drishti and returning cyber fraud recoveries — showcases Nagpur Police’s commitment to technology-driven policing and citizen welfare.
