Sex Racket Busted at Lotus Service Apartment in Nagpur; Two Women Rescued, One Accused Arrested

Nagpur: Under Operation Shakti, cops on Wednesday busted a sex racket being operated from a service apartment in Narendra Nagar and rescued two women who were forced into prostitution. One accused has been arrested for running the illegal operation.


The action was carried out on August 6, 2025, by the Social Security Branch (SSB) of the Crime Branch, Nagpur Police, under the guidance of Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal.


Based on credible information, a team of SSB officials raided Lotus Service Apartment, located at Plot No. 64, PMG Society, Narendra Nagar, under Beltarodi Police Station limits. During the operation, the accused identified as Sanket Sunilrao Tawale (30), a resident of Plot No. 183, Untkhana, Medical Chowk, under Imamwada Police Station.


Tawale was found to be luring women into sex trade by offering them large sums of money and providing them accommodation for immoral activities. Two women were rescued from the location, and a total of ₹28,458 in cash was seized during the raid.


A case has been registered against Tawale under:

Section 143(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS)

• Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA), 1956


The successful operation was carried out under the supervision of:

The raiding team was led by PI Rahul Shire and included API Shivaji Nanavare, constables Kishor Thakre, Prakash Mathankar, Laxman Chaure, Nitin Vasane, Aarti Chauhan, Lata Gawai, and government vehicle driver Punam Shende.


The police have initiated further investigation to uncover the broader network and connections involved in the trafficking operation.
