Nagpur: Gittikhadan Police Trace and Return 61 Lost Mobile Phones Worth ₹11.91 Lakh to Owners

Nagpur: In a commendable initiative, Gittikhadan Police Station has successfully traced and returned 61 lost mobile phones to their rightful owners here on Tuesday, August 5. The collective value of the recovered devices is estimated at ₹11,91,500.


The operation was carried out based on complaints of missing mobiles received within the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan Police Station. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Nityanand Jha and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunita Meshram, a dedicated team led by Senior Police Inspector Kailash Deshmane, along with Crime PI Prashant Pande, Constables Kamlesh Shahu, Gaibi Nagre, and Vikram Thakur, launched a focused search.


The police team successfully recovered the mobile phones from various locations including Nagpur, Balaghat, Rewa, Malda (West Bengal), Saoner, Kamptee, Gondia, and Bhandara.


On August 5, 2025, all 61 recovered mobile phones were officially handed over to their owners at the police station. The beneficiaries included individuals such as Dhirendra Manikrao Kamble, Mohammad Ashfaq Qureshi, Ganesh Deorao Phulbandhe, Javed Akhtar Mohammad Firoz, Himanshu Sharma, Parikshit Lalmoha Mahto, Anurag Nandkishore Banode, and several others.


The Gittikhadan Police’s efforts have been widely appreciated by the citizens for their commitment to public service and swift action in reuniting owners with their lost property.
