Nagpur: Central Railway’s Nagpur Division will undertake major Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) modification works at Nagpur Station as part of the commissioning of the third line between Nagpur and Itarsi, particularly the Up Goods Line from the Godhani end.

This critical infrastructure upgrade is being executed by the Signal & Telecommunication (S&T) Department and involves planned disconnections and Overhead Equipment (OHE) shutdowns under scheduled traffic blocks.

Pre-Non Interlocking (Pre-NI) works will be carried out from 15th to 20th May 2025, followed by a 12-hour Non-Interlocking (NI) work on 21st May 2025, focused on the Up Goods Loop Line. This includes a 4-hour traffic block.

Train services will be temporarily affected. Express trains including 22847, 22807, 12807, 12808, 12880, and 22866 will be regulated at Kalamna station or may arrive late at Nagpur. On 21st May, a 2-hour traffic block will impact coaching trains 12648 (NZM–CBE Express) and 18237 (Korba–Amritsar Express).

Despite these disruptions, passenger trains running on the main line will continue as per schedule, and signalling on the Up and Down main lines will remain operational, ensuring minimal inconvenience to passengers. Central Railway requests passengers to bear with the temporary changes for long-term network improvements.
