Nagpur: The Nagpur Police Department organized the Tiger Run Marathon to raise awareness about cybercrime and drug abuse here, on Saturday, January 25. The 21 km marathon witnessed remarkable participation, with over 10,000 contestants competing in various categories. In the open category, Rajan Yadav secured the first position in the men’s division, completing the race in 1 hour and 7 minutes, while Neeta Rane clinched the top spot in the women’s division, finishing in 1 hour, 17 minutes, and 56 seconds.
In the 45+ age category, Govardhan Meena won the men’s race with a time of 1 hour, 18 minutes, and 38 seconds, and Pallavi Moon emerged victorious in the women’s division, clocking 1 hour, 52 minutes, and 49 seconds.
The winners were felicitated at an award ceremony held at the Nagpur Police Headquarters. Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, Special Inspector General of Police Dr. Dilip Patil Bhujbal, and Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli distributed cash prizes to the winners. The top prize for the 21 km race winners included ₹50,000 in cash, while the second and third-place winners received ₹30,000 and ₹20,000, respectively. A total prize pool of ₹7.5 lakh was distributed across all categories, including 10 km and 5 km races.
During the ceremony, Dr. Bhujbal announced that Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal has been honored with the President’s Police Medal for exceptional service, adding to the celebratory spirit. Dr. Bhujbal and the gathered police personnel congratulated Dr. Singal, marking the moment with enthusiasm and pride.

The marathon commenced at 6 a.m. from the Police Headquarters ground in Takli and concluded at the same venue by 8:30 a.m., marking a successful event for community awareness and fitness promotion.
