Nagpur: With Ganeshotsav 2025 approaching, the Nagpur City Police convened a high-level review meeting on August 8 to finalise preparations for the 10-day festival. The meeting, chaired by Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, was held at the Commissioner’s Office and saw participation from top civic, district, and law enforcement officials.
Among those present were Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Chaudhary, District Collector Vipin Itankar, Additional Commissioner of Police (South Region) Dr. Shivaji Rathod, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region) Rajendra Dabhade, Chief Fire Officer Bhagwan Wagh, Transport Officer Vilas Thengne, NHAI representative C.M. Sinha, Electricity Department officials Hemant Vadaskar and S.R. Khan, along with all Deputy and Assistant Commissioners of Police from Nagpur City.
The agenda focused on ensuring that the festival is celebrated peacefully, in a safe and fearless atmosphere, with strict adherence to environmental norms. Officials reviewed last year’s challenges and shortcomings, and instructions were issued to concerned departments to implement corrective measures well in advance. The emphasis was on smooth coordination between departments, effective crowd management, traffic control, and safety arrangements to maintain law and order throughout the festivities.
