Nagpur: In a chilling discovery reminiscent of the plot from the crime thriller Drishyam, a suspected human skeleton, believed to be of a woman, was unearthed during road construction work near Besa Power House under the jurisdiction of Sakkardara Police Station here on Friday night.
Workers stumbled upon the skeletal remains while excavating the road and immediately informed the authorities. Senior police officials and a forensic science team reached the spot to conduct a detailed inspection and collect evidence.
Sources revealed that a saree was also recovered alongside the bones, indicating that the body may be that of a female. Investigators suspect that the body could have been buried deliberately and later concealed under a newly constructed road to destroy evidence, much like the method depicted in Drishyam.
The identity of the deceased remains unknown, and officials believe the body may have been disposed of a significant time ago. The remains have been sent for forensic examination to confirm whether they are human and to assist in determining the cause and time of death. Police have registered a case and launched a thorough investigation into the suspected murder and cover-up.
