Nagpur: Panic gripped Daga Hospital in Nagpur after a one-day-old baby girl was allegedly stolen from the hospital premises, prompting the Tehsil police to launch an intensive search operation.

According to preliminary information, the newborn was reportedly taken from the hospital, following which the police administration immediately swung into action. Police suspect the involvement of a woman wearing a burqa and have launched a search for her.

Police teams are conducting an intensive search inside the hospital premises as well as in surrounding areas. Security and police presence has also increased around the hospital following the incident.

Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and are searching for the suspected woman. Police are also likely to examine CCTV footage from the hospital and nearby areas to trace the newborn’s whereabouts.

The safe recovery of the one-day-old baby remains the police’s top priority, and efforts are underway to locate the child at the earliest.
