Nagpur: An unidentified man allegedly broke into the office of Devani Brothers Advocates in Nagpur’s Sadar area and fled with ₹33,846 in cash, police said.
According to the complaint, the incident took place between 10 pm on August 19 and 5 am on August 20 at the law firm’s office located opposite Poonam Chambers in Anjana Colony, under Sadar police station limits.
The complainant, Umesh Kumar Bhagwandas Agrawal (65), a general manager, had locked the main door of the office before leaving for home. However, an unidentified accused allegedly broke the door’s latch and lock and entered the premises.
The accused reportedly opened a drawer of an office table and stole ₹33,846 in cash before escaping.
Police checked the office’s CCTV footage and found an unidentified man, estimated to be 20 to 30 years old, allegedly committing the theft between 3.45 am and 4.45 am.
Based on Agrawal’s complaint, Sadar police registered a case under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are examining the CCTV footage and working to identify and apprehend the accused.
