Nagpur: In a late-night crackdown on Tuesday, July 22, Zone 1 police raided two popular restaurants — NH1 and Bakasur — located under Bajaj Nagar Police Station limits, for allegedly serving liquor without a valid licence. A substantial quantity of alcohol was seized during the operation.
According to officials, the management of both establishments was not only allowing patrons to consume liquor on the premises but was also serving it without obtaining the required permits from the excise department.
The action comes in the wake of a recent directive by DCP Zone 1, S Rushikesh Reddy, who had held a meeting with bar and restaurant operators instructing them to strictly adhere to operational guidelines, particularly regarding permitted hours and alcohol service norms.
Police have initiated legal proceedings against the owners and further investigation is underway. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking stringent action against nightlife establishments violating licensing regulations and disturbing public order.
