Nagpur: An externed individual was arrested by MIDC Police on the evening of July 21 for illegally entering restricted city limits and allegedly planning criminal activity. The arrest was made around 7:30 pm based on a tip-off received by the police during routine patrolling.
According to officials, the MIDC Police patrol team received reliable information that a suspicious person, dressed in a black and white shirt, was seen loitering near Hanuman Temple in Amar Nagar, a locality falling under the externment zone. Acting on the input, the team reached the location, where they spotted a man matching the description. Upon seeing the police, the suspect attempted to flee but was caught after a brief chase.
The accused identified himself as Ankesh alias Tobo Ramsingh Pal (22), a resident of Juna Nildoh, near Bablu Kirana, MIDC, Nagpur. Upon verifying his background, police found that he had been previously externed from Nagpur city and rural limits for one year under Externment Order No. 5/2024, issued on July 23, 2024, by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 1.
Despite being legally barred, Ankesh Pal was found roaming within the MIDC police station limits without official permission and was suspected to be preparing to commit a crime. His presence was deemed a direct violation of the externment order.
Following the incident, MIDC Police registered an offence against the accused under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act. He was formally arrested, and further investigation is currently underway.
