Nagpur: The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Post Nagpur, on Sunday, July 20, successfully rescued an 11-year-old minor boy from Nagpur Railway Station and ensured his safe handover to a shelter home under “Operation Nanhey Farishtey,”.

At around 11:50 AM, based on information received by the Inspector, RPF Nagpur, along with a shared photograph, ASI B.K. Sarpate and Constable Pintu Kumar, who were patrolling platform no. 03, noticed a minor boy wandering alone in a frightened and anxious state. Upon inquiry, the boy failed to provide satisfactory answers about his family and stated that he was alone.

He was immediately brought to the RPF Post, where, in the presence of a Childline representative, he was gently and sympathetically questioned. During the interaction, the child revealed that he had left home to play on 19.07.2025, when two unknown individuals allegedly abducted him by forcefully covering his face with a cloth. Upon regaining consciousness, he found himself at Thane Railway Station, from where he boarded a train and eventually arrived at Nagpur Railway Station.

The child expressed a desire to return to his parents. Upon further inquiry, it was learned that an FIR had already been registered at APMC Police Station, Navi Mumbai, regarding his kidnapping. The concerned police station was duly informed.

After completing all necessary documentation and medical examination, the minor was safely handed over to child care authorities as per protocol.

The prompt and sensitive action of RPF Nagpur has been widely appreciated.
