Nandanvan Mam Booked for Sexually Exploiting 19-Year-Old Woman on False Promise of Marriage

Nagpur: Nandanvan police have registered a case against a 26-year-old man for allegedly establishing sexual relations with a 19-year-old woman on the false promise of marriage and subsequently refusing to marry her.


The accused has been identified as Ritik Dilip Winchurkar (26), a resident of Nandanvan slum area in Rajendra Nagar. Police said he has no previous criminal record.


According to the complaint, the survivor, identified as a 19-year-old woman, had gone to her friend’s house in Nandanvan. She later went to meet the accused’s mother, who is related to her, at a nearby residence. However, the woman was not at home at the time.


Police said the accused allegedly asked the woman to sit at his residence and engaged her in conversation. He allegedly made a false promise of marriage and established sexual relations with her against her wishes. The complaint further states that he allegedly continued to have sexual relations with her repeatedly.


When the woman later went to the accused’s house to discuss marriage, the accused and his family allegedly refused to agree to the marriage.


Based on her complaint, Nandanvan police registered a case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.


Police are investigating the allegations.
